A Hysteroscopy is a procedure where a camera is placed through the cervix to view the inside of the uterus. It is used for various reasons including: abnormal uterine bleeding, polyps or removal of an Intrauterine Contraceptive Devices if they cannot be removed in a clinic.

Operative Hysteroscopy is when a camera with small surgical instruments in it is used to remove polyps, fibroids or the lining of the uterus with diathermy. If you have a hysteroscopy planned, or are considering undergoing one, click the 11 min video that explains the procedure in detail.
